Oman Power & Water Procurement Company announces plans for new independent desal projects

The Oman Power and Water Procurement Company has announced plans to build two new independent water desalination projects in the Sultanate of Oman.

OPWP, a member of the Nama Group, is responsible for both procuring new power and water capacity and selling the output in Oman.

The company is now planning to procure two new independent water projects (IWPs) for water desalination plants in the Al Batinah region at Barka (100,000m³/day) and North Al Batinah (150,000m³/day) respectively.

OPWP has now launched the pre-qualification process for developers for the IWPs with a request for qualification (RfQ) tender – the RfQ documents will be available for purchase till 16 August.
