L&T Construction awarded contract for its water & effluent treatment business

In March 2020 in the Sultanate of Oman, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction procured a significant contract for its Water & Effluent Treatment business. The terms of the contract are for the design and execution of the water infrastructure project in order to develop the Al Dhakhlia Water Transmission System, Phase – II.
The contract was acquired after international and competitive bidding and is a repeat order from the same client.
The scope of work includes the following:
- 173 km of pipelines for water transmission with associated civil works
- 18 RCC water storage reservoirs
- 5 pumping stations with associated mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation works
In early February 2020 L&T also procured a Water Infrastructure order from a client in the United Arab Emirates to execute a recycled water transmission pipeline project. The bidding for this contract was highly competitive and is a project with great potential.
The scope of work involves: engineering, procurement, construction & commissioning of recycled water, transmission pipelines of 87 km with associated civil works, TSE reservoirs, micro tunneling works, structural, electrical and instrumentation works.
